An Evening with Diana Krall

An Evening with Diana Krall and Friends is a star-studded charity benefit which has raised more than $6 million for VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. Seven such benefits have been held since 1998, in support of the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant (L/BMT) Program and blood disease research at Vancouver General Hospital.

The events are the Krall family's heartfelt expression of their thanks for the care Diana's mother received at VGH. Adella Krall enjoyed six additional precious years of life following her 1996 diagnosis of multiple myeloma – an incurable form of cancer that affects the immune system.

"Our wish has always been to pass along the precious gift of time that we had with our mother, and to give other families more time with their own loved ones," said Diana. "My family and I will always be grateful for the wonderful care our mother Adella received from the doctors and nurses at VGH. Helping the team find cures for multiple myeloma and other blood cancers is the ultimate tribute to her. We are proud to play a part in providing care, comfort and hope to patients and their loved ones from across our province."

Diana and her sister Michelle's commitment to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation celebrate Adella's vision of helping patients and their families have the best care possible, and ultimately, to contribute to finding a cure.
