We have an exciting, permanent position available: Associate Director, Proposals, Development and Fundraising Initiatives. We are seeking a dynamic individual with proven business acumen, project management and leadership skills for this key role.
Position Focus
Fundraising case development. Project management. Writing and editing. Business analysis. Leading projects and the team. These are five core components of this position.
• The Associate Director plays a central role collaborating with key stakeholders within the Foundation and hospitals. This role develops and manages an inventory of fundraising cases for support, proposals for donors and accountability reports for major gift fundraising initiatives and other opportunities that exist within our mandate.
• The Associate Director manages projects on behalf of the Foundation and its donors. This critical function within the Foundation ensures that donor funded initiatives are completed on time and on budget, meeting and exceeding donor expectations.
• The incumbent will collaborate in the development, and drive the creation and implementation of a comprehensive plan for offers and proposals. This position will also work with the Foundation leadership team (Senior Management and all Directors) to help identify and match ‘product’ to fundraising opportunities and determine annual key fundraising initiatives based on product, naming and recognition, prospects and physician partnerships.
Education & Experience
• University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or similar.
• Minimum seven to ten years relevant experience in health-care not-for-profit fundraising / marketing or in a marketing management role in the private sector.
• Thorough understanding and direct experience with project management.
• Experience developing and writing fundraising cases for support and proposals.

• Proven project and people management skills, natural leadership abilities and excellent judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
• Proven strategic talent and abilities as well as business acumen.
• Demonstrated facility for building and sustaining effective relationships and rapport.
• Excellent business writing and editing skills for cases for support and proposals with a demonstrated ability to succinctly communicate useful and relevant information to internal and external audiences.
• Must enjoy a variable and volatile workflow which will involve multiple priorities, and have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through to completion.
• Excellent analytical, financial and problem solving abilities combined with a calm, direct and clear approach.
• Ability to remain focused and thrive when faced with multiple demands.
• Computer skills: high level of proficiency in MS Office (all applications), and a strong knowledge and familiarity with donor database management systems such as Raiser’s Edge.
