The talented and world-renowned specialists that make up the VGH Spine Program are global leaders in spinal cord injury treatment and research. After all, more patients with spinal cord injuries are treated at VGH than at any other North American institution and the passion of the doctors, surgeons and researchers is second to none.
The 12,000+ British Columbians suffering from a spinal cord injury deserve the best treatment and medical talent possible. To secure this, VGH and its spine program need funding to establish a dedicated Chair. The position will be held by an outstanding clinician-scientist with knowledge of both spine surgery and the complex neurobiology of spinal cord injury and will form a bridge between patient care and laboratory research.
