The hospitals we fundraise on behalf of deliver an extensive range of specialized services on a scale that is virtually unmatched. VGH, UBC Hospital and GF Strong Rehab Centre are BC’s main referral centres for adults who are facing complex and serious medical challenges.

Finding the resources to enable our medical experts to stay abreast of changes in medicine while managing increasing demands is a constant challenge. Government funds our basic operations, but it will be philanthropic leadership that allows us to sustain and enhance the specialized care that distinguishes our hospitals.

There are many ways to make a leadership gift to benefit world-class healthcare at our hospitals. For example:

Cash Gifts can be made by cheque or credit card. Cheques should be made payable to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, with a notation either directing the donation to benefit our areas of greatest need, or supporting a designated area of care. Consistent with our Foundation Board Policy, a contribution from all designated donations goes to the Best of Health Fund to supports the hospitals’ most urgent priorities and the work of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.

Those who make gifts of publicity-traded securities including shares, bonds and mutual funds receive a tax receipt for their full value. There is no capital gains tax on charitable gifts of publicly-traded securities.
