Community Builders Robert and Lily Lee

Robert and Lily Lee are well-known in Vancouver and British Columbia because of their involvement and contributions to the community. Robert Lee, a philanthropist, founder of UBC Properties Trust, and Lily Lee, who graduated from the VGH School of Nursing and also from UBC, as a public health nurse, believe healthy neighbourhoods and families are what build a community.

Their support for Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) has contributed to the health of British Columbians, and had a positive impact on care and research at various locations on the hospital's campus. Robert and Lily Lee were honored with the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Leadership Award. Their belief in community-building motivated them to support a unique community health centre at Broadway Avenue and Commercial Drive that offers specialized programs and health services to the diverse neighbourhood of Grandview Woodlands. In recognition for their generous donation, the building was named the Robert & Lily Lee Family Community Health Centre.
